ALL ABOUT A GIRL : MONDAY 8:00PM

The inspiring story of transgender teenager Georgie Stone is being broadcast on Australian Story next Monday night, August 15 at 8pm on ABC1.

Georgie, 16, has faced bullying, prejudice and legal hurdles to be true to herself. Now Georgie is advocating for other young people so they will not have to go through the same ordeals as she did.

‘About A Girl’ is made by producer Janine Cohen, who reported ‘Being Me’ on Four Corners in 2014, in which Georgie featured under the alias ‘Jamie’. Since then, a court order suppressing Georgie’s identity has been lifted, so she can speak openly.

We think the program has great educational and social value, and are encouraging people and organisations to share the Australian Story Facebook page and help promote Georgie’s story so it will reach the largest possible audience.
